  • Small, Green Homes: Home-buyers’ Preference
Apr 23, 2020
Mr. Rakesh Reddy
Director, Aparna Constructions, For The pioneer

Due to the increasing population of the migrant working class who are on the move, the demand for 1 & 2 BHK apartments have been rising of late. In a recent publication by the Daily Pioneer, our Director Mr Rakesh Reddy explains this increasing demand, and the factors affecting them. Here are a few takeaways:

  • Smaller apartments are relatively affordable, are easier to resell and provide the security and investment advantages of homeownership, which is why they are a suitable option for the home-buyers from the working class.
  • Mumbai continues to lead the demand for smaller housing, however other metropolitan cities are picking up the demand due to the increasing migration and job mobility. In recent times, the demand for studio apartments is on the rise too, due to the lower cost of maintenance and centralized locations.
  • The growing trend among the millennials for energy-efficient and sustainable homes is another driving factor that fuels the demand for smaller housing. With reduced water and energy consumption, the coming generation is making an effort to preserve resources and reduce the cost of living.
  • With this shift towards an environment-friendly housing trend, the upcoming housing projects focus on meeting such requirements with amenities such as solar panels, high efficient lighting, etc.
